How to Jailbreak Your iOS 8.0 - 8.1 Devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod) Using Pangu V1.0.1

To our delight, two days after Apple launched iOS 8.1, Pangu Team released the jailbreak for iOS 8 and iOS 8.1. A great news for iFans who want to jailbreak their device, right? But, how to perform this iOS 8.0-8.1 jailbreak? Let’s learn more about this jailbreak tool released by Chinese hacking community Pangu Team.

Need to Know before Jailbreak

Supported Devices: iPhone 6+, iPhone 6, 5S, 5C, 5, 4S; iPad 2, 3, 4, iPad Mini, Mini 2 and 3, iPad Air and iPad Air 2; iPod Touch 5th. That is, all devices compatible with iOS 8. iOS 8 jailbreak tweaks and update can be installed on these devices.

Supported System: Windows only at present

Supported Firmware: iOS 8.0, iOS 8.0.1, iOS 8.0.2,  iOS 8.1.

Others: Make sure your passcode is disabled and Find My iPhone is disabled in the iCloud settings. Ane never forget to backup your device before jailbreak.

Disable passcode: Settings >Touch ID and Passcode (Or simply Passcode) > Enter your recent passcode > Scroll down and tap on “Turn Passcode Off”.

Disable Find My iPhone: Settings >iCloud > Turn Find My iPhone “Off”  if it is ON. A pop-up window will prompt your Apple ID password to confirm the “Turn-Off”.

Backup your device: It is never too much to emphasize to backup iPhone, iPad, iPod before jailbreak or update. Learn more about how to backup iPhone/iPad/iPod.

Make sure your device can be plugged into computer and recognized by iTunes.

How to Start to Jailbreak Your Device Running on iOS 8.0 – 8.1?

Now let’s start to use the jailbreak tool for Windows Pangu v1.0.1.

1. Download the tool from Pangu Official site: Pangu Jailbreak for iOS 8.0 – 8.1.x.
2. Once downloaded, right click on the icon, run as administrator, a virtual window will pop up to recognize your device.
3. Find a small box checked in the bottom left, uncheck it and click the blue clickable button below.
4. Wait patiently while the jailbreak gets downloaded.
5. Once the download is finished, your iOS device will reboot. The Pangu icon will be on your device’s screen.
