How Do I Replace Battery in iPhone 5s?

Note: It is similar for iPhone 5 and 5S models. This article, I will take iPhone 5s as the example. Hope it helps.

Steps to Replace iPhone 5s Battery

1. Remove two screws at the base of iPhone with the hex head screwdriver comes with the iPhone tool kit. 

2. Remove the screen from the casing. This is the most tricky step. The home button is not attached inside and only ear piece end is. The simplest trick to achieve this is to attach the suction cup to the side of the home button and pull hard while holding the outside if the casing. 

3. After that, you can lift the lid from the dock. Be careful not to tear it down or break any ribbons connected near the other end. 

4. Now it is time to undo the screws on a small metal plate.

5. Now to find the battery cable, it is a black connector. Then use a plastic pick to detach it. 

6. Pull the battery out with a plastic sleeve underneath. 

7. After pulling out of the old battery, insert your new one and connect it to the battery terminal.  Repeat the steps  in revere to reassemble the new battery.
